Questions

Which reptiles can be chipped?

Most tortoises, lizards and snakes can be chipped once they are big enough. Your vet will tell you if yours is ready.

Where is the chip on my reptile?

Tortoises are usually chipped in the left hind leg. Snakes are chipped on the left side, about a third of the way down the body. Lizards are chipped on the left side.

What if a scanner finds nothing?

Scan slowly over the whole body, as chips can move. If there is still nothing, ask a vet to try another scanner, because some older chips only read on certain models.

What does a finder see?

Nothing about you. The finder enters the chip number, we email you, and you decide how to get in touch.
